In 2020, some local politicians - like Seth Magaziner - stood alongside those who wanted to defund the police. Yet Allan literally stood shoulder to shoulder on the front lines with the men and women of law enforcement defending Cranston's Garden City, Chapel View, and Elmwood Avenue neighborhoods from those threatening to riot and loot.

Allan supports expanding our community policing efforts to improve relations and safety in our neighborhoods. In Cranston, he instituted details to improve school safety, which was warmly embraced by members of school leadership and parents alike. We also need to promote partnerships with community health organizations to get people at risk of overdosing on opioids the help they need.

To protect our police officers who play by the rules, Allan supports qualified immunity.
